When you’re building a website, choosing the right platform is crucial. There loads of options but the two that stand out are WordPress and Drupal. While both platforms have their good points we think that WordPress is nearly always the right answer. Here’s why.

As site developers, we want a platform that lets us build the sites that our clients want. A platform that lets us implement our best design work and doesn’t hold us or our customers back in any way. Having spent more years than we care to acknowledge working with both platforms, we’re more than happy to say that WordPress has never limited us or our customers – it’s always allowed us to build the functionality our clients need and let us do so in a way that’s elegant and effective. Building a Drupal site, on the other hand, is more like trying to knit a jumper while wearing boxing gloves.

We think that WordPress is the better choice for a new website. It’s easy to use, customizable, SEO-friendly, secure, and supported by a vast community. While Drupal has its strengths, it is not as user-friendly or customisable as WordPress, and it may require more technical expertise to use properly.
